[ohwait y'know what? i just realized that blogger has become exceedingly clever! :D like last time after typing in my username/password, pressing enter had no effect whatsoever, but now when you press the enter key it is smart enough to realize that you want to go on to the next page and just can't be bothered to click with the mouse. finally x) but then again, it could be just me.]

hoho it's friday the 13th. (: and since everyone's down feeling unlucky, i shall be random and tell of loserly quotes, lame jokes, and uhh, happy stuff. [i am such an idiot at times, i proudly proclaim.]

anyway, we had this totally retarded, i mean, funny debate during geog yesterday, with regards to the fate of the country googa with the river ulala. (yes, that's geog lessons for you.) and so, we bore witness to the great showdown between the mighty mncs and our rural-area inhabitants, which of course, gave rise to some outrageously hilarious quotes:

#1
[the mnc people, afraid of the tribal people being ignorant of who they - i mean the mnc people, not the tribal people themselves - are, decide to reiterate their identities.]
mnc: do you know what 'mnc' stands for? multinational company!
joyce: NO?! it stands for 'money no count'.

#2:
[mncs and tribal people arguing over why we would require money, and hence, the reasons behind needing to carry out deforestation, industrialization, and the like. and to help contextualize this quote, keep in mind that tribal people, or this group present in 213 at the very least, is highly bent on securing rights for themselves and their (imaginary) cows.]
tribal people: but then, why do we need money?
samantha: more money more cows!

#3:
[this is the crowning glory of all quotes, i say. at least, all quotes pertaining to this geog discussion.]
sophia: we must preserve our cowture!

and well, a comment by ahemcharmaineahemahem, when sophia placed this feather amongst her hair, thereby signifying her position as tribal chief:
'now we have evidence that sophia is feather-brained, she's got one sticking out from her scalp.'

adding to the above, a collection of jokes, but maybe not exactly a collection.

#1:
pau hates beehoon. everytime pau sees beehoon, pau will run after beehoon and conk beehoon on the head. one day, pau sees maggi mee. what does pau say to maggi mee?
'don't think you perm you hair i cannot recognize you!'
[courtesy of my darling mortal, who took it from her sister. :D if you get the inflection right when you say it, it becomes ten times as retarded.]

#2:
Q: why is it so easy to get clothes for fortune tellers?
A: because they are all mediums.

#3:
Q: what did the man say when he walked into a bar?
A: ouch.

and finally, we present you the most idiot-proof way of differentiating between the various types of questions that might come out during a comprehension examination:

literal: how many legs does an ant have?
inferential: how many legs do you think an ant thinks it has?
point of view: in your opinion, how many legs should an ant have?
quotation: quote a sentence, from the passage, that tells you the number of legs that an ant has.
implications: what are the consequences of an ant not having the usual number of legs?

the quotation one was decidedly funny, i think. say that in class, in the midst of serious, tense discussions, and you immediately become the centre of attention.

just goes to show that we have a bunch of nutcases in 213. (i highly suspect that i'm included under that definition.)

rjchorale concert tomorrow! :D haha i was youtubing (yay new word for me! or am i just deluding myself?) and i stumbled upon this:

incognito at founders' day 'o7! :D

ohno stefanie's going to bring dale the chipmunk along. that spells trouble for our overall sanity.

anyway, on a more serious side, syf's looming straight ahead. eleven days, the calendars say, though in some ways it doesn't exactly feel that it's eleven days ahead. half a minute ago i might feel the immediacy of it all, then half a minute later i would have lost it. how! :O ohwell, at any rate our standing positions resemble those of prague's so much, like fiona-lisa-me! :D

oh and grawr why does everyone think our choir jacket looks gross! fine it can be a bit overly elaborate but still! it's not as if it's downright disgusting or anything, hmph.

itsuki is such a pretty song, really. everytime we sing the piece we hear different messages, different emotions being conveyed. and ahh the harmonies. :D when they blend they really are, truly heartwarming. i say our programme for syf's really cool! (:

the two magical words on the 24th, please? with honours.

self-explanatory note to round off this post. CAPSEM'o7! :D

lives, writes, sings, plays the piano, and attempts to sound intellectual at times (conclusion: fails rather miserably).

loves music (almost strictly classical, hurhur & inclusive of faziolis!), literature (& also the sciences - no they are not in conflict), making hopelessly lame puns, laughter, white/milk chocolate, cheesecake, the world & the people in it. list not exhaustive, by the way.

wants the world to be filled with peace, joy and love, and also wants (perhaps a little more selfishly) to be happy, plus lead a life of purpose. that would be more than enough. (:

oh, and she likes embarking on her own 'free hugs!' campaigns after exams and the like; not really sure why. D: (at any rate, you can tell that she's random enough.)

loves you!♥

very plain, she knows; but this is probably herself in its entirety - nothing more than a compilation of perhaps-boring-to-you little things (and the occasional Important Event), but also nothing less than all the brilliant memories which constitutes her life, and perhaps yours.

also interpreted as an inability to express with other things but words (nothing more, nothing less!), although even words sometimes won't do enough. but she does like orange.

v2.0 (230208): maybe solid grey isn't that fantastic after all. but wordy is good, all the same. she's weird, she knows.

ver. i-pretend-that-it-is-3.0-when-i-know-it-is-not (070608): i am boring, take that. (:

v4.0 (200908): got bored, so cut down on the quasi-fanciful stuff even more. perfectly plain now, though somehow the background still doesn't work on safari / google chrome. ):
